Join us to celebrate Christmas Day at Sacred Heart Church, Rugby.

Everyone is welcome to join us for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services at Sacred Heart Church, Rugby. This is the music we will be singing:
First Mass of Christmas, Monday December 24th at 8pm (with carol singing from 7.45pm)
Before Mass:
112 O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
134 On Christmas night all Christians sing
144 In the bleak midwinter
135 It came upon the midnight clear

Gathering song: 159 O come all ye faithful
Penitential Rite: 522 Storrington
Gloria: 532 Storrington
Psalm: Today a Saviour is born to us, he is Christ the Lord
Gospel acclamation: Celtic. Cantor: I bring you news of great joy, Today a Saviour is born. He is Christ the Lord. Alleluia!
Gifts: O Little town of Bethlehem
1. O Little town of Bethlehem how still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light;
the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
2. O sad and troubled Bethlehem we hear your longing cry
For peace and justice to be born and cruel oppression die.
How deep your need for that great gift of love in human form,
Let Christ in you be seen again and hearts by hope made warm.
3. While morning stars and evening stars shine out in your dark sky,
despair now stalks your troubled streets where innocents still die.
And Jesus child of Mary, whose love will never cease,
Feels even now your pain and fear, longs with you for your peace.
4. Amazingly and lovingly Jesus, the child has come
and brought to birth through human pain, makes broken hearts his home.
He comes to comfort all who weep, to challenge every wrong
And living with the weak and poor, becomes their hope, their song.

Holy, Holy: 584 Storrington
Memorial Acclamation: 479 English Chants for the Order of the Mass5
Lamb of God: 590 Storrington
Communion:
Born in the Night
1. (solo) Born in the night, Mary’s child, a long way from your home;
Coming in need, Mary’s child, born in a borrowed room
2. (all) Clear shining light, Mary’s child, your face lights up our way.
Light of the world, Mary’s child, dawn on our darkened day.
3. (all) Hope of the world, Mary’s child, you’re coming soon to reign;
King of the earth, Mary’s child, walk in our streets again
