Support the Rugby food bank

foodbank_photo gallery 3_donating-foodThere are an estimated 12,500 people living on the edge of poverty in Rugby including 14 per cent of our town’s children. The Rugby Food Bank supports them. By simply donating a tin of food, you are helping to make a difference in the community. Items needed are coffee, hot chocolate, pasta sauces, tinned vegetables, snack meals, tomatoes, meat, rice and sponge puddings, sugar, UHT milk, fruit juice and toothpaste. If you can spare any of these, please bring them along to the narthex at Sacred Heart Church. There is a rota of parishioners who deliver the goods to the food bank. Find out about the national food bank initiative here.

Support the Day for Life

End-of-LifeSunday July 26th is the Day for Life. The retiring collection enabled the Church to fund the Anscombe Bioethics Centre as well as projects which work to protect life at every stage and condition. Parishioners are also urged to defend life and oppose the Marris Bill. The Archbishop has written to ask us to take action to defend vulnerable people. If you are concerned about this issue, write to our MP, Mark Pawsey.
