THE SEASON OF CREATION 1st September to October 4th, Feast of St Francis.Pope Francis calls us to keep the Season of Creation at this time of year. He asks us to focus on the message of ‘Laudato Si’, his important letter published five years ago, reminding the whole human family to be aware of our responsibility to care for our common home.
PRAYER INSPIRED BY LAUDATO SI
Living God, have mercy on us, for the times we forget that we belong to each other.
You call us to be still, to hear the whisper of our Sister Wind, to feel the radiance of our Brother Sun, and to be nourished by our Mother Earth.
Renew us in your healing love. Inspire us to water the earth, and nurture one another, so all may flourish. Together, as one family, may we always sing your praise.
Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
PRAYER FOR OUR ELECTED LEADERS
God of all,
bless our elected leaders with listening ears
that hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor,
bless them with open hearts
that hunger and thirst for justice,
and bless them with the courage
to work together towards the common good.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
GOOD TO SEE YOU; It is good to see attendance at the Masses in both parishes being maintained and increasing slowly. We quite understand if people still do not feel confident in returning to Mass just yet. Thank you for your generous response to the Collection and especially to those who have made donations to cover the ‘backlog’ caused when public Mass was not available and they were not able to donate as usual.
