The first of Sacred Heart’s Living Faith talks for 2015 took place on Thursday November 5th in the church hall.
The speaker was Elizabeth Davies. She has been Marriage and Family Life Project Officer at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales since 2003. She has been involved in parish and diocesan family ministry since 1994 and holds an MA in Community Leadership (Family Ministry) from Regis University, Denver.
Elizabeth is currently pursuing a part-time Professional Doctorate in Practical Theology at Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology, Cambridge and is also Chair of the Family Caring Trust, which produces community-based programmes for the preventative care of the family.
She talked about the recent Synod on the Family and then there was a discussion about its implications for parish and family life.
There are three further talks in this year’s Living Faith series. Each evening includes a meal, a talk and a discussion.
A parish meeting took place on Thursday July 2nd 2015 in Sacred Heart church hall. The meeting looked at the life of the parish today and the future.
