Mass for the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B

Here is Mass for the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bilton, Rugby.

Entrance Antiphon: O Lord hear my voice, for I have called to you; be my help. Do not abandon or forsake me, O God, my Saviour.

First Reading; A reading from the prophet Ezekiel 17:22-24. I make low trees grow.

Response: Psalm 91: It is good to give you thanks, O Lord.

Second Reading: A reading from second letter of St Paul to the Corinthians 5:6-10. Whether we are living in the body, or exiled from it, we are intent on pleasing the Lord.

Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia, alleluia! The seed is the word of God, Christ the sower, whoever finds  the seed will remain for ever. Alleluia!

Gospel: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark 4: 26-34. It is the smallest of all the seeds; yet it grows into the biggest shrub of them all.

Diocesan Vision: Unfolding God’s Plan

This weekend we have an important Pastoral Letter from Archbishop Bernard introducing the  Diocesan Vision on how he intends our Archdiocese to move forward over the coming years.

Archbishop Bernard says that after a year of lockdown and restrictions we need to make a fresh beginning. The aim is for clergy and lay faithful to work closely together to create vibrant communities of faith, joyful in the service of God and neighbour.

You can find the Pastoral Letter in text, audio and video on the Diocesan website  http://www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk/vision

Please take and use a Prayer Card which contains a special prayer for the Diocesan Vision.

Recently Dead; please pray for Reggie Crawford who died this week. Funeral arrangements to  follow.

THE NICENE CREED

I believe in one God, the Father almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God,

Born of the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light,

True God from true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father; Through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,

And by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and  rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no  end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the  Son, who with the father and the Son is adored and glorified,

Who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the  forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the  world to come. Amen.
