SILVER JUBILEE OF ORDINATION; Our congratulations, best wishes and prayers to Fr Graham as he marks the 25th Anniversary of his Priestly Ordination on Tuesday. We thank God for the blessings of his presence and ministry among us. We ask the Lord to bless him in the future. Ad multos annos. He will be presiding at the Live Streamed Mass from Sacred Heart on Tuesday at 10am.
SACRED HEART BROADBAND. We have managed to get the broadband properly wired in so the place is much tidier- no more trailing wires. It should make it easier to live stream in the future.
ENGLISH MARTYRS BROADBAND – We are planning to upgrade the Broadband and the installation in the near future. We hope that you have found the live streaming helpful if you are housebound or unable to attend in person for any reason.
PUBLIC MASS: Welcome, it is good to see a gradual return to Mass. All are welcome. Please return when you feel comfortable. With the recent easing of lockdown, there have been some minor relaxations in relation to celebration of Mass. We still need to be cautious and careful.
Please remember it is still very important to maintain the precautions – do not attend if you have any symptoms or have been in contact with COVID, sanitise your hands on entry and leaving, be signed in on the list or use your phone and keep a 1m distance from one another and observe the spaces in seating and keep a distance in coming to Holy Communion and moving about. Thanks for your cooperation so far. Thanks again to those who have been stewarding and sanitising at our gatherings and helping to keep us safe. PASTORAL LETTER FROM THE BISHOPS OF ENGLAND AND WALES – This Letter read today stresses the importance of our response as Catholics to the challenge to the health and future of Our Common Home presented by the Climate Emergency. We are encouraged to think of our responsibility to act seriously personally and as a community to the challenges we must face. May the Holy Spirit guide us and strengthen our resolve to ’renew the face of the earth.’
A PRAYER AT PENTECOST = from CAFOD
O God, Trinity of love,
From the profound communion of your divine life,
Pour out upon us a torrent of fraternal love.
Grant us the love reflected in the actions of Jesus,
In his family of Nazareth, and in the early Christian community.
Grant that we Christians may live the Gospel,
Discovering Christ in each human being, recognising him crucified
In the sufferings of the abandoned and for gotten of our world,
And risen in each brother or sister who makes a new start.
Come, Holy Spirit, show us your beauty reflected in all the peoples of the earth, So that we may discover anew all are important and all are necessary, Different faces of the one humanity that God so loves. Amen.
an ecumenical prayer from Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis’ encyclical.
We fly to your protection, O holy Mother of God. Despise not our petitions in our necessities, and deliver us from all dangers. O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
Virgin Mary, turn your merciful eyes towards us amid this coronavirus pandemic. Comfort those who are distraught and mourn their loved ones who have died, and at times are buried in a way that grieves them deeply. Be close to those who are concerned for their loved ones who are sick and who, in order to prevent the spread of the disease, cannot be close to them. Fill with hope those who are troubled by the uncertainty of the future and the consequences for the economy and employment. Amen.
