Here is the Mass for the Baptism of the Lord from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bilton, Rugby on Sunday January 10th, 2020.
Entrance Antiphon: After the Lord was baptised, the heavens were opened, and the Spirit descended upon him like a dove, and the voice of the Father thundered: This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
First Reading: Isaiah 55;1-11 Come to the water. Listen and your soul will live.
Psalm Response: Isaiah12:2-6. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
Second Reading: First Letter of St John: 5; 1-9 The Spirit and water and blood.
Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia, alleluia! John saw Jesus coming before him and said: This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Alleluia!
Gospel: Mark 1: 7-11. You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you.
Masses – Saturday: Mass at Sacred Heart 5pm. Sunday: Mass at Sacred Heart 9.30pm, Mass at English Martyrs 11am. Mass at Sacred Heart in the main Chapel on Wednesday at 7pm. Mass at English Martyrs on Thursday at 11am.
Sunday 11am Mass at English Martyrs and the Thursday Mass will be live streamed. You can follow it on YouTube or there is a link on the English Martyrs website.
Saturday evening Mass 5pm at Sacred Heart will be recorded and made available on You Tube .There is a link on the parish website. Weekday private Masses usually at 10am at Sacred Heart are available on You Tube usually by late morning. The Sunday Mass obligation has been dispensed because of the Pandemic.
ATTENTION. We must be very careful with the precautions we must take attending Mass. Do not attend with any symptoms. Always wear a Face Mask or covering. Sanitise your hands before and after Mass. Track and trace. Observe separation and distancing at least one metre or more especially during entering and exiting Church and processing to Holy Communion. There should be no mixing before and after Mass outside of households and bubbles. Your cooperation is very important and much appreciated.
