The Sacred Heart Parish Meeting on Thursday June 30th heard a presentation on the Live Sinmply award and how it is currently working in a Leamington parish.
One of the main items was to hear from Lizzie Wignall (CAFOD’s Community Participation Co-ordinator) about becoming a Live Simply Parish. She was joined by Brian Austin from St Peter’s parish in Leamington who told us what this has meant for them.
Sacred Heart decided some years ago it wanted to become a Live Simply Parish and we have been made aware of what’s involved through the Tips & Signposts that have been regularly circulated. The whole idea has been given a big boost by Pope Francis’ letter a year ago Laudato Si’ (On care for Our Common Home).
It was also agreed to hold quarterly parish meetings open to all parishioners. The next meeting will be in the Autumn.
